Celebrating A Milestone Birthday

Sure, 36 may not seem like a milestone birthday, and honestly I had not given the number much thought. I don’t pay a lot of attention to my age, to the point that I often forget how old I am and all too often say the wrong number, but that’s another story. It was only last week that I actually did a little math and realized something pretty big was about to happen.

You see, I was 18 years old when I started my business. It was August of 2006, only a few weeks before the start of my freshman year of college. I joined an exciting new website called Etsy (which was barely even a year old at the time!)

It’s an incredibly odd realization that I have been running my business for half of my life. Things have changed so much over the past 18 years. From making and packaging my first wholesale order on the floor of my college dorm room in Illinois, to working for myself full time out of my home studio in California. I had big dreams that summer of ‘06, but I never could have imagined all the places this business would take me. Whether you were here at the beginning or just tuned in, thank you so much for being a part of my journey!
